Sandeep Bodhanker
Sandeep Bodhanker’s young age belies the depth of understanding and height of expression he has already achieved in the art of Kuchipudi dance. Due to his immense talent, deemed as a God-gift when he started his dancing career at the age of four, Sandeep Bodhanker has already attained great accolades for his unique interpretations.
In his relatively short career he has given more than 1200 solo performances and received more than 300 Indian, as well as International awards.
In addition to his personal performance work, Sandeep Bodhanker has choreographed dance sequences for Telegu motion pictures and produced high quality Kuchipudi dance music available on CD and Cassette.
Sandeep Bodhanker’s cultured and tuneful voice is the result of his diploma in Karnatic vocals. In addition he is currently undertaking a Masters Degree in Business Administration.
As an industrious scholar, and researcher of his artform, Sandeep is able to keep the deep traditions of the dance alive in his interpretations. He has a keen interest to explain the history and demonstrate the progression of Kuchipudi dance. For this purpose he has created practical workshops to give basic introduction as well as a more advanced insight into this unique and spiritual art form.
Formerly he was employed as Dance Master at Guntur Vikas, The Concept School, Hyderabad.
Recently he has spent time lecturing at Shri P.K. Salve Kala Pratisthan – International Academy of Music and Dance, where he has instructed and choreographed students from all around the world. This has given Sandeep Bodhanker an even greater great desire to take this ancient art form into the 21st century, and to make it more accessible to people all around the world. Without altering the traditional origins of the dance, he wants new audiences to discover the inspiring spiritual aspect and the immense beauty of Kuchipudi dance.
